Charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence, evading responsibility and unsafe movement is Jeffrey Arlynn, 41, of 176 Laurel Ridge Road, South Salem.

Bethel Police received a complaint that a vehicle had crashed on Elizabeth Street at about 1 a.m. Friday, causing property damage, and then fled the scene before parking nearby in Parloa Park.

The complainant also reported that a female passenger in the vehicle involved in the crash was screaming to be let out after the accident and that she eventually got out of the vehicle and left the scene on foot, police said.

Officers found the vehicle and the driver, Arlynn, who refused to perform sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested, police said. Arlynn was transported to police headquarters, where he was released on $5,000, bond. He is scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court on Jan. 5.
