Man In Trench Coat Reportedly Took Photos Near School, North Castle PD Says

NEW CASTLE, N.Y. -- North Castle Police officers received a report from the Byram Hills bus garage of a suspicious man in a green trench coat taking pictures near the school grounds.

Officers responded, but could not locate the man, police said.

Other police blotter calls of interest included:

On Tuesday, officers received complaints about a suspicious vehicle parked in the cul de sac of Deer Trail. A caller told officers that he approached the vehicle and believed the occupants were using some sort of hard drugs and they asked him not to call the police, police said.

The vehicle then fled the area in the direction of Whippoorwill Golf Club. Officers did not locate the vehicle, police said.

Also on Tuesday, 

  • On Monday, police received a report from a man who said he believed he was following his vehicle which had been stolen the week before. The vehicle was traveling southbound on State Road 22. The man followed the vehicle to the Home Deport parking lot in Valhalla. Police from several departments responded, the vehicle was not the man's, but did closely resemble his.
  • On Wednesday, police received a call from the BOCES director requesting an officer on a report of a student who was receiving unwanted text messages from another student. Officers responded and are dealing with the incident.
  • On Wednesday, police received a report of a woman sleeping in her silver Volvo SUV in front of Hickory and Tweed. The caller told officers he had opened the door but the woman did not respond. Officer responded and woke the woman who said she was taking a nap.
