Westchester Woman Among Two Nabbed In $9K Jewelry Store Burglary

A 27-year-old Westchester County woman and 29-year-old Dutchess County man have both been charged in the burglary of a jewelry store in Wappinger in which more than $9,000 worth of merchandise was stolen in October of 2016, state police announced Friday morning.

Casey C. Owen of Mamaroneck and Rocco R. Cardascia of Poughkeepsie were charged Thursday with burglary, criminal mischief and grand larceny, all felonies.

The two were arraigned at the Town of Wappinger Court. Owen was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash or $3,000 bond. Cardascia was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond. Their next appearance was scheduled for Aug. 3..

State Police were assisted by the Town of East Fishkill Police Department, the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department, and the Village of Fishkill Police Department.
