The following day, police returned to the site to see if the friends had cleaned up the area, as instructed, but police found a large amount of garbage left behind. All of the friends were charged with trespassing, consumption of alcohol and littering. They are to appear at Lewisboro Town Court on June 3.
The Lewisboro Police also reported the following incidents:
- On Monday, April 29, a County Waste Management garbage truck backed into a power pole on private property in Goldens Bridge. The property owner contacted police, who contacted Waste Management and spoke to the driver and his supervisor. The driver explained that he was unaware that he had hit the pole and the company agreed to pay for damages.
- The caretakers of the privately owned Mead Chapel at the corner of Mead Street and Chapel Road discovered tire tracks on the lawn, damage to a few of the the chapel’s steps and damage to the railing, with smudges of yellow paint. As they were examining the property, a school bus traveling south on Mead Street turned into Chapel Road, cutting the corner and driving across the edge of the property.
- An automobile owner who had temporarily parked his disabled vehicle at the Vista Market on Route 123 reported to police on Wednesday that the car was missing when he returned a few weeks later to get it. The owner of the property said the car had been there for about 2 and a half weeks, but then it disappeared and he does not know what happened to it.
- A Katonah resident reported on Sunday that her former landlord, who has the ability to hack into her online bank account, had illegally cashed a check for $2,000. She said she had already informed her bank to stop payment. The investigation is continuing.
- As he was patrolling Goldens Bridge Road, a Lewisboro police officer noticed a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker. He stopped the car and discovered the driver had a suspended license, due to failure to pay child support. The officer issued two uniform traffic tickets and ordered the driver to appear at Lewisboro Town Court on May 13.
- The sound of gunshots in the area brought police to Goldens Bridge on Sunday about dinnertime. Police interviewed a local resident, known to do target practice on his property and ascertained that he had caused the noise. Officers advised the complainant that the man with the gun was within his rights, because the size of his property met local guidelines.
