Douglas Hus-Flores, 19, was arrested in early March and charged with first-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor. Police said at the time that Hus-Flores, who is believed to be living in the country illegally, had been watching the female relative while the girl's mother was out of the house.

When the mother returned, the girl told her mother that Hus-Flores had sexually assaulted her, and the girl was taken to the hospital for treatment, according to police. Hus-Flores had been scheduled to appear at an immigration hearing the next day, but was instead arrested.
