An investigation revealed that on six separate dates beginning May 4, employee Baria Kendezi of South Salem unlawfully entered Greenwich Produce on Oakridge Drive after hours and removed currency from the cash registers, state police said.
The Lewisboro Police Department and state police started the investigation Wednesday. A surveillance team observed Kendezi approach the rear of the market at 11 p.m. Wednesday, according to police. She was detained by investigators after leaving the area, police said. It was discovered that she had just burglarized the Greenwich Produce Market and was in possession of the cash, police said, adding that additional evidence was obtained linking Kendezi to the previous six burglaries.
Kendezi was arraigned in the Town of North Salem Court before Hon. Stephen Bobolia and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $7,500 cash bail.
She is scheduled to appear in the Town of Lewisboro Court on May 16.
