Police saw a busy morning that included three car accidents in less than two hours on Monday, Feb. 13. At approximately 8:30 a.m., a hit-and-run occurred on Apestrong Road in Bedford when an oil delivery truck that was partially parked on the roadway was struck by a driver who attempted to pass the truck.

A half hour later, police were dispatched to Croton Lake Road in Katonah, when a tree fell on a car, damaging the roof. Then at 10:20 a.m., a driver backing out of their Almar Lane driveway struck a parked car across the street. No injuries were reported in any of the incidents.

The following day, police responded to a report of a potentially suicidal employee by her manager at a business on Babbitt Road. According to police, the employee, who left work early, said she was going to a friend’s house on Long Island. Officers in Bedford were able to get in touch with the Rockville Centre Police Department, who located the woman and took her to the Nassau University Medical Center for evaluation.

Shortly after 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 14, a 73-year-old woman was stopped when she was spotted attempting to shoplift earrings from Kohl’s in Bedford Hills, police said. According to a loss prevention officer at the store, the woman appeared to be “confused and disoriented.” The woman was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital for evaluation and the store refused to press charges.

A 16-year-old boy was reported missing from an Old Post Road group home on Thursday night after he failed to return to the residence after being out for the day, police said. The boy would go missing for several days before an employee at the home reported his return over the weekend.
