The alleged theft was reported about 3:25 p.m. on March 4, according to police, who said a woman reported that her cell phone was taken from her car while the vehicle went through the Splash Car Wash at 570 Bedford Road in Bedford Hills.
According to police, investigators are reviewing surveillance footage from the business. No arrests have been made.
The incident capped a week of multiple calls to authorities across the town of Bedford.
About 2:50 a.m. on March 1, officers responded to an Allison Road home in Katonah after receiving a report that a 41-year-old man had said he may hurt himself before disappearing.
The man was found unharmed later that morning and taken to Northern Westchester Hospital for evaluation, police said.
About 9:30 a.m., officers responded to the West Patent Elementary School in Bedford Hills after a caller reported an 8-year-old boy was experiencing a “diabetic episode.”
The boy was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by the Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps, police said.
On March 2, officers responded to the Katonah Playcare Early Learning Center on Edgemont Road after an employee found the front and rear doors of the business had been damaged, authorities said, adding that no property was taken. The incident is being investigated as a criminal trespass.
The following day, officers responded to a Green Lane group home about 9:30 a.m. after a staff member at the home reported a female resident was “being uncooperative and threatening to other residents.”
Officers and medical personnel eventually calmed the woman, who was then taken to Northern Westchester Hospital for evaluation.
