17-Year-Old Boy Hit By Own Car As It Rolled Down Hill In Ridgefield

Updated: RIDGEFIELD, Conn. — A 17-year-old boy was hospitalized after he was hit by his own car as he tried to stop it from rolling down a hill in Ridgefield, according to the Ridgefield Press.

The boy became trapped under the car in the accident on Nutmeg Ridge at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and had to be extricated by firefighters, according to the Ridgefield Press. 

A witness told the Ridgefield Press that the teen accidentally left the car in drive and became wedged between the hill and the car after it hit him. 

He was reportedly in stable condition Wednesday at Danbury Hospital with broken collar bones, bruised lungs, burns and punctures wounds, the Press said.
