Letter: Remember Fallen South Salem Solider

LEWISBORO, N.Y. – The Lewisboro Daily Voice accepts signed, original letters to the editor. To submit your letter, email lewisboro@dailyvoice.com.

To the Editor:

Tuesday, Oct. 23, will mark the 29th anniversary of the bombing of the Marine barracks in Beirut, Lebanon, which took the lives of 241 Marines, sailors and soldiers on that fateful day in 1983.

One of the 241 who was lost was United States Marine Cpl. James J. Jackowski of South Salem. I ask that we take a moment to remember his sacrifice on Oct. 23, 2012. Let it be known there is a public monument dedicated to Cpl. Jackowski at the Vista Fire Department and I invite you to visit the site.

Thank you and please support all our men and women of the Armed Forces.

Adam Ochs
