Dorothy 'Dottie' Gale, 88, Of South Salem

SOUTH SALEM, N.Y. -- Dorothy "Dottie" Gale, of South Salem and formerly of Bedford Hills, died Thursday, April 23, at her home. She was 88.

Gale was born Nov. 29, 1926, to Ina Hyde and Albert Edson Smith in Mount Kisco. She graduated from Bedford Hills High School and worked for four decades as a bookkeeper at various places, including Marty Motors in Mount Kisco, the family's Electric Gale Corp. in Croton Falls and the Waccabuc Country Club.

She was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Gerald. She is survived by her son, Donald of South Salem, and her son, daughter-in-law and grand-daughter, Glenn, Mayumi and Akari, respectively, of Tokyo; and by several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be Wednesday, April 29, from 4-8 p.m. at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 30, at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 382 Cantitoe St., Bedford.

Interment will follow at St. Matthew's Church Cemetery.
