Monetti was born in the Bronx, served in Germany in the early 1950s and worked as an executive at IBM from 1956-1988.
He moved to Somers in 1970.
Monetti is survived by his wife, Ada; his children, Steven, Dolores and Richard; and his granddaughters, Amanda and Samantha Gisonni.
Monetti is best remembered for his playful love of life and commitment to friends and family - especially in how each child who passed through his influence was made to feel special in a manner that was unique to each.
This includes the many youngsters he coached in Little League during the 1970s as the manager of the “Braves.” His family and friends in later years remember him as someone who met his many health struggles with optimism, while not putting his disposition above the needs of others.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, at St. Joseph's Church, 95 Plum Brook Road, Somers.
