LEWISBORO, N.Y.  – When Lewisboro voters go to polls on Tuesday, they will discover something new.

Gone are the mechanical machines where voters simply clicked a lever and then pulled the curtain open to register their vote. With the optical scanner, voters will fill out a card with a pencil, much the way you fill out an SAT test sheet, and then slide the card into the scanner, which reads and then register the votes.

Lewisboro has four polling places:

John Jay High School, 60 North Salem Road, Cross River

Increase Miller Elementary School, 186 Waccabuc Road, Goldens Bridge

South Salem Firehouse, 1190 Route 35, South Salem

Meadow Pond Elementary School, 185 Smithridge Road, South Salem

Polling places are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
