Westchester Trio In Top 20 On Forbes’ Powerful Women List

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Forbes has released “The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women 2014” list, and three from Westchester made the top 20.

Ranked at No. 6 is Chappaqua’s Hillary Clinton. The ormer first lady, 66, chronicles her time as secretary of state in her soon-to-be released memoir, "Hard Choices," which reportedly earned her a high seven-figure advance.

IBM’s CEO Virginia Rometty, 56, ranked No. 10. Rometty first started at IBM in 1981 at age 24 as a systems engineer. IBM is headquartered in Armonk.

Indra Nooyi, 58, is the chairwoman and CEO of PepsiCo and came in at No. 13. Despite the current stigma attached to sugary drinks, the company's shares have increased 3.1 percent. Pepsi Beverages Company (PBC), the bottling division of PepsiCo Inc. has two divisions located in Somers and Purchase.

The annual list is compiled using factors such as money, media force, spheres of influence and impact on the world.
