The two, nominated for their work on the film "Foxcatcher" -- Futterman got the nod for Best Original Screenplay along with E. Max Frye, while Miller got the nod for director -- were in the Dolby Theater audience -- but did not win.
“Foxcatcher,” a drama based on true events, centers on John du Pont's efforts in hiring a pair of famous wrestling brothers to help train U.S. Olympians.
Futterman and Miller both participated in Mamaroneck High's Performing Arts Curriculum Experience program known locally as PACE. They have been friends since 7th grade.
