VISTA, N.Y. The Vista Fire Department responded to six calls this past week, including a car/school bus collision. The fire log for the week of Dec. 12-18 follows:
The department received a request at 1:33 p.m. for the ambulance at a residence on Kitchawan Road. When personnel arrived, they found the residence locked. They were able to have the dispatch center re-contact the caller and found out that they left for the hospital on their own.
At 5:25 p.m., the company received a request for the ambulance at a residence on Elmwood Road. The patient was transported to Norwalk Hospital.
At 4 p.m., the department received a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a school bus on Kitchawan Road in the area of Mill River Road. ( http://www.thedailylewisboro.com/news/car-collides-meadow-pond-school-bus ) The company requested assistance from the South Salem Fire Department and Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance. The driver of the car was transported to Norwalk with the Westchester paramedic on board. Twenty-five children and the bus driver all refused to be transported to a hospital.
The department received a report of a motor vehicle accident on Smithridge Road near East Street at 8:49 a.m. One patient was transported to Norwalk Hospital.
At 10:40 a.m., the department received a report of a carbon monoxide alarm activation at a residence on Elmwood Road. Responding personnel discovered that it was set off in error by workers.
The department received a request for the ambulance at a residence on Smithridge Road att 12:20 p.m. The patient was transported to Norwalk Hospital with the Westchester Paramedic on board.
