Vista Fire Dept. Responds to Nine Calls

VISTA, N.Y. – The Vista Fire Department received nine calls in the past week ranging for requests for the ambulance to smoking appliances.

The following is the department’s log:

SEPT. 6

At 9:54 a.m. the company received a request for the ambulance at a business on Smithridge Road. The patient refused transport to a hospital.

SEPT. 7

At 12:30 a.m., the company received a report of wires down on Elmwood Road. It notified NYSEG and remained on location until they arrived.

The department received a request at 7:09 p.m. for the ambulance at a residence on East Street. The patient was transported to Norwalk Hospital with the Westchester paramedic on board.

SEPT. 8

The department received a report of a water condition at a residence on Smithridge Road at 8:12 a.m. It arrived to find the power had been restored and no further action was required.

SEPT. 9

At 1:04 p.m., the company received a request for the ambulance at a residence on Tommy's Lane. The patient was transported to Norwalk Hospital with the Westchester paramedic on board.

SEPT. 11

At 11 p.m., the department received a report smoke coming from an appliance. Firefighters arrived on location and unplugged the appliance and turned off the breaker. The homeowner was advised to contact an electrician.

At 12:27 p.m., the company received a request for the ambulance at a residence on Birch Spring Road.  The patient was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital.

The department received a report at 3:52 p.m. of an exposed cable in the driveway of a residence on Tribrook Drive. It was determined to be safe and was removed.

At 5:46 p.m., the company received a request for the ambulance at a residence on West Lane. The patient was transported to Norwalk Hospital.
