Vista Fire Dept. Responds to Five Calls This Week

VISTA, N.Y. – The Vista Fire Department responded to five calls this past week, ranging from a structure fire to carbon monoxide detector activation. The fire log for Jan. 2-8 follows:

JAN. 3

At 1:34 p.m., the company received a mutual aid request for an engine and then a tanker at the scene of a structure fire on Twin Lakes Road in South Salem (http://www.thedailylewisboro.com/news/fire-destroys-house-kat-lewisboro-board-member). The company also requested the New Canaan Fire Department to relocate one engine in its fire house.

JAN. 5

The company received a request for the ambulance at a residence on Glen Drive at 12:03 a.m.  The patient was transported to Norwalk Hospital with the Westchester paramedic on board.

At 5:44 p.m., the department received a report of a carbon monoxide detector activation at a residence on Lake Side Drive. Firefighters checked the residence and found no carbon monoxide present. After checking the owners’ detector it was determined to be past its life expectancy.

JAN. 7

The company received a request for the ambulance at a residence on Lake Kitchawan Drive. At 8:58 a.m. The patient was transported to Danbury Hospital.

JAN. 8

At 11:04 a.m., the company received a request for the ambulance at a residence on Smithridge Road.  The patient was transported to Norwalk Hospital with the Westchester paramedic on board.
