original story: PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. — The traffic on I-84 through Putnam County and Danbury, Conn., is a mess early Friday afternoon, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
An overturned tractor-trailer is reported on I-84 westbound between Exits 21 and 20, in New York. Motorists should expect lane closures and delays of up to an hour, DOT said.
Traffic is backed up to Exit 2 in Danbury for Mill Plain Road/Old Ridgebury Road.
Rubbernecking delays are reported on the eastbound side of I-84 in the vicinity of the crash.
The crash was reported Friday at noon.
Also on I-84 westbound in Danbury, road construction is blocking the left lane closed between Exit 8 for Newtown Road and Exit 3 for Route 7, DOT said. Traffic is backed up to Exit 19 for /Church Hill Road in Newtown, and motorists may see delays of up to 30 minutes, DOT said.
