Suspect In Shooting During On-Air TV Interview Dies

MONETA, Va. -- The man wanted for shooting a television reporter and camera man on Wednesday morning has died after shooting himself on Interstate 66 in Moneta, Va., according to multiple reports.

Vester Lee Flanagan II, 41, also known as Bryce Williams, reportedly shot himself in a Ford Mustang as authorities confronted him, KTLA 5 reported

Flanagan opened fire at approximately 6:45 a.m. and killed reporter Alison Parker, 24, and cameraman Adam Ward, 27, during a live broadcast.

Flanagan is a former employee at WDBJ Channel 7, a CBS affiliate that covers the Roanoke, Va., area. Flanagan, who appeared on air using the Bryce Williams name, was fired after approximately one year on the job, KTLA 5 said.
