The New York State Police Barracks in Somers (Troop K) conducted a Speed Enforcement Initiative in the towns of Lewisboro and Somers on Saturday and issued a total of 59 tickets.

The initiative was held between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. and focused primarily on Route 35 in both towns. State Police said a majority of the tickets were for speeding; no felony arrests were reported.

The Speed Enforcement Initiative was designed to further advance the State Police’s mission to reduce deaths, injuries and property damage caused by motor vehicle accidents through vehicle and traffic enforcement.
