LEWISBORO, N.Y. – A John Jay student was reported missing by his parents to the Lewisboro Police Department on Thursday, Dec. 1, but was found with friends three days later by State Police.

The boy’s parents told police that they took him to high school on Thursday where he went to his morning classes but skipped BOCES, which they did not find out until they came to pick him up at the end of the day. The parents then began contacting his friends and drove around looking for him. The reached out to the boy’s former girlfriend, who said she had not seen him. At 5:15 p.m., the former girlfriend’s mother called the boy’s parents and said he was at their house. When the parents arrived to pick him up, he had left.

Police tried to contact the boy by cell phone, but the calls went directly to voice mail. Officers checked areas the boy was known to frequent, but he did not turn up. At that point State Police were notified.

“The State Police found him a few days later,” said Lewisboro Police Chief Frank Secret. “He was alive and well. We knew that he was around because people had seen him. He wasn’t the type of kid to run away.”
