Late Thursday night, a family member observed the post on the Yonkers Police Department Facebook page and immediately contacted this department. She was subsequently identified as a 79-year-old Yonkers resident. Her family had been unaware that she was missing. She was released from the hospital to a family member earlier today.

YPD investigators had been unable to locate anyone in missing person databases who matched her descriptio.

“In this incident, the use of social media resulted in a successful conclusion," Yonkers Police Commissioner Charles Gardner said.
