LEWISBORO, N.Y. – An extensive tree-trimming program will be conducted throughout Lewisboro to avoid prolonged power outages such as those experienced during recent storms, New York State Electric & Gas announced.

NYSEG maintains easements of 10 feet in all directions of its poles and wires, so the company has the right to remove and prune trees and brush within that area.

NYSEG has sent postcards announcing its plans to customers throughout South Salem, Waccabuc, Cross River and Goldens Bridge. If you have any concerns, you are invited to contact Sam Miller, NYSEG’s division forester, at 845-278-8120, Ext. 229.

Lewisboro Supervisor Peter Parsons has arranged an open meeting with a NYSEG representative for 7 p.m. March 21 at the Lewisboro Library.

I applaud NYSEG for taking on this project!
Remember folks if you don’t want NYSEG to move ahead on this cutting of trees project don’t be complaining about power outages
