As a hospital that provides high-quality patient-centered care, NWH is redesigning and expanding its surgical suites to ensure adequate space for new technologies and to better align the facility with the sophisticated procedures being performed by our surgical staff.

“Our community derives tremendous benefit from having such a high-quality hospital that is dedicated to providing patient-centered care," said Lisa Schwartz. "By involving patients and family members as key members of the care team, patients become empowered and provide important input in the direction of their care.  We believe this innovative approach will help define how healthcare will be delivered in the years to come."

Lisa Schwartz is the founder of Rainbeau Ridge in Bedford Hills, an author and chair of Seed Global Health, an organization dedicated to strengthening health systems globally.  Lisa Schwartz was also a driving force behind the NWH Food is Care patient nutrition program.

“We are proud to make this level of financial commitment and we completely support the vision of the NWH leadership team," said Mark Schwartz. "Their achievements in building NWH into such an important community asset demonstrate their ability to successfully manage the challenges of the current healthcare environment."

Mark Schwartz is vice chairman of Goldman Sachs and chairman of Goldman Sachs Asia Pacific. Mark Schwartz serves as a trustee of New York-Presbyterian Hospital and a member of its executive committee.  He also serves as trustee at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University.

"With such a deep understanding of healthcare, their substantial gift is a true vote of support for our uncompromising commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care for our community,” said Joel Seligman, president and CEO of Northern Westchester Hospital.
