Library Slates Classes on How to Download Books

LEWISBORO, N.Y. – The Lewisboro Library has scheduled three of its popular “Technology and You” workshops for the month of January.

The workshop will teach attendees how to use the library catalog to download free audiobooks and eBooks on to compatible digital devices, such as iPads, and e-readers like Nooks and Kindles.

The workshops will be held Monday, Jan. 16, at 11 a.m.; Tuesday, Jan 17 at 7 p.m.; and Saturday, Jan. 21 at 11 a.m. The class lasts approximately 90 minutes. Registration is required. Call the library at 914-763-3857 to register and indicate what type of digital device you own.

Participants should come prepared with their library card with PIN, the device, an Adobe user-ID and password and, if applicable, a laptop. If using a Kindle, an Amazon user ID and password will also be required.

For a complete list of audio and eBook devices that are compatible with the library’s free digital media catalog and instructions for getting started, go to and click on the Digital Media Catalog tab.

Library officials said they plan to hold the “Technology and You” workshops on a monthly basis throughout 2012.
