Fire commissioners serve 5-year terms. Polls for the region's fire district's are open from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

South Salem has two candidates, Glenn DeFaber and Peter Ciacci, while a third candidate, Jared Jared Harwayne-Gidansky, announced that he was dropping out and endorsing Ciacci.

DeFaber and Ciacci are vying for a seat that is being vacated by Chairman Steve Angelilli, according to The Lewisboro Ledger

There are two candidates running unopposed in Goldens Bridge, according to Steve Mangione, a spokesman for the fire district. They are Joann Vasi and Tom Beneventano.

An announcement from the fire district noted that Vasi was appointed to a seat vacated by Steven Mines. The announcement also includes statements from the pair, who focus on helping the Fire Department following a February blaze that damaged its firehouse.

“This is a very important period in the Department’s history. The decisions we make regarding the restoration of the Firehouse will impact the Department and the vital services it provides to our community,” Vasi said in her statement.

“Although last February’s fire resulted in tremendous damage and loss, we are working together as a team to restore the Firehouse and embrace the opportunity to shape the future of the Department,” Beneventano said in his statement.

In Vista, incumbent and chairman Adam Ochs', whose seat is up for re-election, confirmed that he is running for another term.
