Lewisboro's Al DelBello May Get Westchester Airport Renamed In His Honor

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – County Legislator Ken Jenkins of Yonkers is leading a push to rename Westchester County Airport in honor of former County Executive and Lewisboro resident Al DelBello, according to News 12 Hudson Valley.

Jenkins' proposed name is the Alfred DelBello Westchester County Airport, News 12 reported.

DelBello, who served as county executive from 1974-82, died May 15 at the age of 80.

He spent 20 years in politics, becoming the state's lieutenant governor after leaving the county executive's office, News 12 reported.
