Lewisboro Officials Remember Al DelBello, Former Lt. Gov, County Exec

SOUTH SALEM, N.Y. -- Lewisboro Town Board members remembered Al DelBello, one of the community's most prominent residents, following his passing last Friday.

Supervisor Peter Parsons announced at Monday's board meeting that town flags would be flown at half staff in DelBello's honor.

Parsons also recalled DelBello's public service, which including being mayor of Yonkers, Westchester county executive and New York's lieutenant governor. He added that DelBello's largest impact came from his time as county executive, calling his tenure “three terms of remarkable achievement.”

Councilman Peter DeLucia told Daily Voice that DelBello was impressive once he knew someone's name, recalling anecdotes of when he would say hi when they crossed paths at a local pizza place.

“We were honored to have him as a resident in this town,” DeLucia said.

Recalling DelBello, Councilman Dan Welsh said, “he would always have something helpful to say."
