LEWISBORO - As a result of Hurrican Irene, the Town of Lewisboro has declared a state of emergency beginning 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug 27 said Supervisor Charles Duffy.The Town leadership has met with first responders, highway, maintenance and Westchester County representatives. All town agencies have indicated they are ready for the storm. Residents are reminded to call 911 for emergencies, and emergencies only. For non-emergency calls to Police, use the local number 914-763-8903. Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance local non-emergency number is 914-763-3574.For power outages and other reports please use 211, the Westchester County information line, or NYSEG at 800-572-1131.Vista Fire Department local non-emergency number is 914-533-2727. Goldens Bridge Fire Department local non-emergency number is 914-232-4530.The Town Emergency Operations Center will be located at the South Salem Fire House. The local number for the Command Post is 914-763-3706. This is not an information line and should be used for emergencies after you try 911.There are no planned evacuations and residents are reminded to use caution. Do not travel un-necessarily. Secure outdoor items that may blow around (boats, patio furniture, etc. should all be tied down or taken inside.) Be sure to keep some fresh water available and have a flashlight, portable radio and batteries.Some power outages are expected. Do not approach downed wires. Do not attempt to cross flowing water. Take all instructions from emergency services personnel.We expect that everyone will be safe, if somewhat inconvenienced, said town Supervisor Charles Duffy.
