Lewisboro Cops Investigate Theft of Designer Bags

LEWISBORO, N.Y. – Lewisboro police are investigating a larceny case in which two designer handbags valued at $3,000 each were stolen from two vehicles parked at the Yellow Monkey Village over the weekend.

Police were first called to the scene on April 22 around noon when a mother and daughter reported that the windows to their vehicles had been smashed while they were taking yoga classes at O2Living. Initially, the two believed nothing was taken from the cars, but later realized that the handbags were missing. They told police that they didn’t notice the handbags were taken because an i-Phone and an expensive camera were still on the front seat of the vehicles. The handbags had been stored on the backseat floors.

The victims said that the thieves took a white Christian Louboutin leather bag and blue Hermas leather bag. Wallets containing credit cards were taken along with the bags, but the women were able to cancel the cards before they could be used.

Lewisboro officers checked along Route 35 and the parking lot area for any signs of the stolen property with negative results. Due to the value of the stolen property, the state police were asked to join the investigation, which continues.

The following items were also reported by the Lewisboro police:

Car Accident: Police were called to the Orchard Square shopping center in Cross River on April 20 for a two-car accident. A witness told police that the driver of a Ford Escape traveling north on Route 121 was attempting to make a left-hand turn into the shopping center. The witness, who said he was headed south on 121, stopped to allow the Ford to make the turn in front of him. However, the witness said, a BMW passed him on the left and struck the Ford as it was making the turn. A passenger in the BMW was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital Center and both cars were towed from the scene.
