The celebration, which took place at Town Park in South Salem, included singing, the lighting of a soaring tree, and visits from folks dressed as Santa Claus, Olaf from the movie "Frozen" and a reindeer.

Studenta cappella groups from John Jay High School performed several tunes, including "Let It Go," a song that mentions, "the cold doesn't bother me, anyway."

The student groups included The Noteables and the Treblemakers.

A group of kids also came to the stage, performing a rendition of "Jingle Bells."

For Lewisboro Supervisor Peter Parsons, Monday included two events, as it was also his birthday. Parsons was honored with a rendition of "Happy Birthday" from the crowd before giving the countdown to the tree lighting.

"Happy holidays to all," Parsons said.
