LEWISBORO, N.Y. – The town of Lewisboro is slowly beginning to get its power back. As of 10 a.m. Wednesday morning, 3,051 NYSEG customers throughout the town were still without power, down from 5,203 on Tuesday.

Power has been restored to Main Street in South Salem and the Town House and library are fully operational.

NYSEG officials say that many customers should be by restored by Thursday at 1 p.m. – but not all; these are still estimates.

According to Dick Marion, deputy public relations officer for NYSEG’s Brewster division, repair crews are being directed to where they can get “the most bang for the buck.” NYSEG and town officials are holding daily conference calls for restoration updates.

Councilman Peter DeLucia also points out that circuits run through adjacent towns and crews may need to work on a circuit in Pound Ridge, North Salem or Bedford in order to get power to Lewisboro customers.

“So just because you may not see a NYSEG crew in part of town does not mean that they are not working to restore power to Lewisboro,” he said.
