- J ohn Jay High School senior Gigi Antonelle received the first Wilma C. Rogalin Leadership Scholarship Award from the Pound Ridge Women’s Republican Club last month, according to a press release. The PRWRC bestowed the honor, along with $1,000, upon Antonelle on Wednesday, May 29 at the school’s Recognition Night or Graduating Seniors.
- The National Weather Service issued a flood watch for Westchester County due to heavy rainfall of more than 4 inches predicted between Thursday and Saturday. Showers began early Thursday morning and thunderstorms hit the area in the afternoon.
- David Johnson conducted a tour around North Salem’s chambers and mounds recently . Johnson is an archaeological researcher and prolific writer on the subject. Members of the New England Antiquities Research Association (NEARA) have been studying the enigmatic structures for half a century and have come up with several theories that Johnson shared on the tour.
