The Eagle Scout Award is the highest recognition offered by the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Fewer than 1 percent of all boys in Scouting achieve this award. In addition to other requirements, a Scout must complete an Eagle Scout project that is helpful to his school, community or religious institution.

Wagner, an avid hiker, created a mile-long hiking trail at the Leon Levy Preserve in South Salem for his project. He is the junior assistant Scoutmaster for his troop and will attend SUNY Maritime College in the fall.

For his Eagle Scout project, Weinstein created a geocaching and orienteering course at Mount Lakes Park in North Salem, which will benefit Camp Morty, a summer camp for underprivileged children. Weinstein is an assistant Scoutmaster for his troop and an adult leader for the Trail-to-Eagle program. He will attend Paul Smith College in the fall.

Boy Scout Troop 154 is part of the Westchester-Putnam Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Troop 154 promotes individual leadership skills as well as teamwork, while staying true to the BSA’s mission: “to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.”
