LEWISBORO, N.Y. – Four candidates will be seeking the Independence Party nomination for the Lewisboro Town Board race in Tuesday’s primary election.

The Lewisboro 2011 slate of candidates includes incumbent Councilman Dan Welsh as well as newcomer Peter Gross – both Democrats. The Team Lewisboro candidates include incumbent Councilman John Pappalardo and newcomer Rhea Mallett. Pappalardo and Mallett have the GOP nomination (although Mallett is a registered Democrat).

Welsh and Gross have already received the Independence Party nomination, but Team Lewisboro, which also includes Supervisor Charles Duffy, garnered enough petition signatures to allow force a primary in which they could be write-in candidates.

The Daily Lewisboro talked to all four candidates to get their insights into the upcoming primary and their take on the challenges the town will face in the coming year.
