Fiancee Pulled Paddle Away As Hudson River Victim Flailed, Prosecutors Say

PUTNAM, N.Y. – Prosecutors stated in a news conference Tuesday that the woman accused of murdering her fiancée in a kayaking incident in April pulled the paddle away as he struggled in the water, reports the New York Times.

The prosecutors also stated Angelika Graswald, 35, knew she was the beneficiary of two life insurance policies totaling $250,000 that belonged to Vincent Viafore, 46, according to the report.

Police discovered Viafore’s body Saturday in the Hudson River near West Point.
