Driver Crashes Into Front of Cross River Pharmacy

CROSS RIVER, N.Y. – A motorist drove his car into the vestibule of the Cross River Pharmacy in Orchard Square Thursday afternoon, but no injuries were reported.

The Lewisboro Police Dept., along with South Salem firefighters and the Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to the call at about 1 p.m.

“A gentleman pulled in the handicapped spot and we believe his foot slipped off the brake and onto the gas [pedal] and jumped the curb and slammed into the pharmacy,” said Lewisboro Police Chief Frank Secret. “Thankfully, no one got hurt. No one was walking by when this happened.”

Secret said the driver and his passenger were driven home by the ambulance corps.

First responders from the South Salem Fire Dept. remained on the scene to clean up the debris. The pharmacy has been able to remain open.
