Vista resident Jerry Barry has been tapped to serve as treasurer for Team Lewisboro, the campaign committee being formed to support the reelection of town Supervisor Charlie Duffy and his running mates Rhea Mallet and John Pappalardo.
Barry is a nine-year resident of Lewisboro and a life-long registered Democrat. He is employed by GE Capital in Danbury, Conn., where he works as a Certified Public Accountant.
Duffy, Mallet and Pappalardo were all nominated by the Lewisboro Republican Committee to run in the upcoming local elections in November. However, Barry pointed out that Duffy is a registered Conservative and Mallett is a Democrat, like he is. He said the Team Lewisboro candidates arent worried about political affiliations and prefer to focus on the issues at the local level.
I worked for Charlie [Duffy] for two years, and have been very proud of what he accomplished, said Barry. As a CPA, I can appreciate the challenges he faced and the difficult choices he had to make. Charlie certainly deserves a second two-year term.
Duffy will square off against Democratic nominee Peter Parsons in the Nov. 8 elections. Mallet and Pappalardo will face Dan Welsh, an incumbent, and area businessman and attorney Peter Gross.
As treasurer of Team Lewisboro, Barry will be responsible for meeting the numerous financial disclosure requirements set forth by the New York State Board of Elections.
