Calling it a joke, Cuomo denied the accusation, said Politico New York.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said Cuomo's redirection of money intended for mass transit as one of reasons he's not sure whether to dramatically increase the city's contribution to the MTA's capital plan, Politico New York added.
John Kaehny, executive director of Reinvent Albany, said the numbers the city is citing are too high. The city contends the state took $200 million from the MTA, Kaehny said it is more likely closer to $100 million, Politico New York said.
Cuomo contends that his allocation of resources to the MTA vastly outweighs whatever money might have been redirected (which he put at $20 million), Politico New reported.
