Accidents On Slippery Westchester Roadways Include Jackknifed Trailer

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The wintry precipitation has resulted in light traffic on major roadways in the area Saturday morning, but several accidents have been reported.

An accident blocked the left lane on the northbound New York Thruway (I-87)  between Saw Mill River Road (Exit 7) and the Saw Mill River Parkway (Exit 7A). It was reported at 7:40 a.m. and has resulted in stop-and-go delays.

A trailer jackknifed on southbound I-684 South between Route 120 (Exit 2) and I-287 at 8 a.m. 

Further north, the shoulder of southbound I-684 at the I-684 interchange (Exit 9) in Southeast was blocked in an incident reported at 8:15 a.m.

An accident blocked the shoulder on the southbound Saw Mill River Pkwy South at Reader's Digest Road (Exit 33) in Chappaqua. It was reported at 8:15 a.m.

The shoulder was also blocked on the southbound Sprain Brook Parkway at Tuckahoe Road in Yonkers following an 8:15 a.m. accident.

Westchester Bee-Line buses and Paratransit vehicles are experiencing 30-minute delays due to slippery road conditions.

There is no Route 30 service on Stone Avenue and Fortfield Road in Yonkers. The bus will continue on Lockwood Avenue and Mile Square Road instead

There is no Route 16 service to Strawberry Road and Lexington Avenue in Yorktown. The bus is operating on Route 6 instead.
