The year began dramatically, when, two days after New Year’s Day, school board Trustee Dr. Peter Treyz’s South Salem home caught fire and burned to the ground. In February, longtime Town Clerk Kathy Cory announced her retirement at a town board meeting. Cory had just won re-election four months earlier. In April, the town completed its relocation of its Onatru Farmhouse offices to new office space located in the Orchard Square shopping center in Cross River. That same month, Lewisboro Library officials’ plans for the library’s expansion and renovation took a step forward when they appeared before the town planning board.
