2 North Salem Boys Killed By Tree During Hurricane Sandy

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - Two young boys were killed Monday evening in North Salem when a tree fell on a house at 19 Bonnieview St., according to a police report.

New York State police in Somers responded to a 911 call at the home at 7:20 p.m. and found a large tree had fallen on the residence, the report said.

Two boys in the house, ages 11 and 13, were killed. One of the boys lived at the residence, and the other was visiting from a neighboring home, the report said. Two other children, ages 12 and 15, were injured. They were treated for minor scrapes and abrasions on the scene by the responding emergency medical services.

Police have not released the children's names yet.
