Our community is fortunate to have Jeff Holbrook running as a candidate for the Katonah-Lewisboro Board of Education. With two young children at Meadow Pond Elementary School, Jeff will keep the needs of our district's younger children in mind while looking to ensure the highest standards for the future. He will endeavor to encourage open dialogue and improve transparency.
Given the difficult fiscal circumstances, and the reportedly divisive nature of relations between the BOE and teacher's union, this is a challenging time for the BOE. Jeff absolutely has the strength, resourcefulness and leadership skills to address these issues effectively.
Jeff regularly attends BOE meetings and has been a strong advocate for keeping costs down without sacrificing the resources needed in the classroom. His background in human resources and management will provide the skills necessary to foster better communication, improve the tone of board dialogue, and allow for sound decision-making that reflects the reality of today's economy.
Perhaps most important, Jeff will take a patient and thoughtful approach when considering competing interests, but at the end of the day will not make concessions causing unnecessary tax increases. Please join us in supporting Jeff on May 21.
