The Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra has, since 1965, been presenting the greatest music ever written in world-class performances right here in our community.  Music truly is their raison d’être; they always strive to bring the finest in music and artists to audiences, and the RSO have truly outdone themselves in celebration of their 2014-15 Golden Anniversary Season!

The season opens on October 4th with a pair of works breathing the crisp air of the Scandinavian North to usher in autumn- Sibelius' evocative, romantic First Symphony and Grieg's ever-popular Piano Concerto, arguably the best known and loved piano concerto ever written.  The "old" world meets the "new" on the RSO's concert February 7th, 2015, with Dvo?ák's celebrated “New World” Symphony #9.  Written while Dvo?ák was living and working in New York City in 1893, it embodies the invigorating spirit of 19th Century America.  And as a fitting finale to an historic season, on May 16th, 2015, the RSO presents Beethoven's immortal Ninth Symphony, with the famous "Ode to Joy."

On the lighter side musically, December brings with it a new community tradition- the RSO's Holiday Concert!  With internationally acclaimed soprano Heather Buck joining the RSO on December 6th in seasonal favorites, this is a concert you won't want to miss!  And on March 7th, 2015, be magically transported back in time to the Sands Casino in 1960's Las Vegas, as the reincarnated Rat Pack makes a special guest appearance with the RSO.  From Fly Me to the Moon to That's Amore to The Lady is a Tramp, Frank, Dean and Sammy will scorch the stage- they're so hot, they're cool!

The musicians of the RSO are the finest in the tri-state area; their guest soloists grace the stages of the finest concert halls around the world; Music Director Jerry Steichen is renowned for his excellence. Performing the greatest music ever written, it adds up to a concert experience that can’t be beat!

Subscriptions are available for three, four or all five concerts, and new subscribers can enjoy our 50th Anniversary Season for 25% off regular prices!  For more information visit the RSO’s website at www.ridgefieldsymphony.org or call 203-438-3889.
