The show is a recognized United States Hunter Jumper Association event, said Ashley Yozzo, owner of Summit Farms in North Salem where Hewitt trains.
"The fact that this was Hayley's first year showing in the Children's Hunter-Pony Small/Medium division and she went to a regional show, got all first place ribbons and received champion of the division is a phenomenal accomplishment," said Yozzo.
In addition, Hayley and Lexi were also champion in the Zone 1 (area of the country) Children's Hunters competition, said Yozzo.
Yozzo, who has owned Summit Farm for 12 years, has worked with Hewitt since she began her riding career when she was 5.
"This is her (Hayley's) first year showing in this division. she exceeded my expectations and our yearly goals by rising directly to the top. I couldn't be more proud of her," Yozzo said.
