Her son-in-law says that Sophie was a great road racer and ran five and 10k races into her 80's in the summers they spent in the High Sierra's in California. Ms. Petrover Sophie is fluent in Hungarian, English, German, French and Spanish and speakssome Italian as well. She learned Spanish when she returned to college at 60 years old after her husband passed away. She has traveled to Germany, Austria, Israel, Italy and Spain, but says that she thinks Switzerland is her favorite.
Her birthday celebration isn't over. Her daughter and son in law call this "The Year of Sophie's 100th Birthday." They expect friends to visit throughout the year who want to have more than a few minutes with Sophie. Each will get a piece of the birthday cake.
