Lewisboro Episcopal Churches Give Seniors a Happy Easter

LEWISBORO, N.Y. – Some seniors throughout the Town of Lewisboro had a happier Easter Sunday thanks to St. John's Church in South Salem and St. Paul’s Chapel in Vista.

Patti Dente, chair of the Inreach Outreach Committee for St. John's Episcopal Parish, along with the help of her fellow parishioners, made and donated 50 baskets to area seniors that contained complete holiday dinners. Each basket also included a handmade card that was created by the churches’ Sunday school children.

“Every basket was hand-delivered by the parishioners and committee members to some of Lewisboro’s local seniors in need,” Dente said. “The balance of the dinners was donated to the Canaan Institutional Baptist Church in Norwalk, Conn., and the Christian Community Outreach Ministries in Danbury, Conn.”

Dante added that the program is just one of the many successful annual events that the ministry does to aid the local community.
