To the Editor:

I built my home in Cross River in 1984 because I knew this was the community where I wanted to raise my family and stay the rest of my life.  Most of my initial impressions came true, my four daughters all graduated from John Jay.

With my oldest teaching at Increase Miller, Middle School and High school before moving to another district, and from watching the actions of prior school administrations who refused to recognize economic realities with the dysfunctional school boards that enabled them, my wife and I began to question our desire to stay after the children left home.

Fortunately, recent events have given us hope that Cross River will continue to be our home. Aided by the Tax Cap and Dr. Kreutzer, there is a clear change in attitude on the part of the school board giving me a sense we are going in the right direction. I am so confident that K-L is the place to be I helped my youngest child buy a home in South Salem. It is this mix of older families deciding to stay and younger families deciding to invest in the community that is the future of our district.

That's why I urge you to please vote for Peter Treyz, Mark Lipton, and Richard Stone. They have shown their commitment and hard work for the people of the district for many years. Let’s keep K-L moving forward for the betterment of our children and all of our residents.
