John Jay Grad Socci Joins Cast Of 'Hairspray'

SOUTH SALEM, N.Y. -- Victoria Lynn Socci, a graduate of John Jay High School and Muhlenberg College, will star in a production of “Hairspray” this fall.

Socci, who grew up and still lives in South Salem, will play the lead character, Tracy Turnblad, in the Arizona Broadway Theatre production. The show will be from Oct. 11 through Nov. 10 at the Arizona Broadway Theatre in Peoria, Ariz.

The Broadway production of “Hairspray” won the 2002 Tony Award for Best Musical.

Socci launched her career last summer in the White Plains Performing Arts Center’s production of “Legally Blonde.”

She then appeared in “Footloose” at the Palace Theatre in Manchester, N.H.
